My first art piece!!!

As a birthday present to myself - I bought my first piece of legitimate art!!! The husband of the couple I intern for is also a very fabulous painter. I have always wanted to purchase art - but rarely have found any I like, much less for a reasonable price. Anyway - below is the fabulous piece I bought from John McGarity (www.johnmcgarity.com). Yay!!!! - V

First of all, this is NOT David. This is Veronica, not David. David's posting privileges have been revoked due to lack of sass.

Let's see what have we been up to lately. Well I've been very important, clack-clack-clacking on my keyboard. Yale was fabulous - but not expensive enough for my tastes. We went to a wacky art party with lots of good dancers. Then to a laser-light show with some band called Ghostland Observatory playing. Too loud for me, though. Kids these days and their mescaline.

Since my last day of working for the weekend was Friday, this big city gal went shopping with all the money she earned from interning this summer. All $85 of it.

So Sunday night we went shooting and took some cool pics in Central Park that are below. Hmmmm what else happened Sunday. ..... Oh, David got this tattoo on his arm.

Da Beach!

Hello loyal fans!

So sorry to keep you waiting for another post, but girrrrrrrrl I been busy! I basically worked all last week, so by the time this weekend rolled around, I was ready to do what all Americans love to do - hit tha beach. So Dave and I bought some sandwiches and drinks and made the long haul over to the Long Island Train Station - or what we thought was the LITS. Because of mislabeled train stops, we ended up at the station 8 mins too late to catch a train to the beautiful Montauk (movie buffs: eternal sunshine beach location). So after a crying spout and some serious pouting, I cheered David up enough to go to our local Brooklyn Beach: Rockaway Beach. The beach turned out to be nice and we even got to see a teenage-drama fight, complete with wussy-punches and girls taking out their over-sized earrings.
The rest of the weekend was fun too! We played softball as normal on Sundays, followed by Shakespeare in the park, The Guggenheim on Monday with a fabulous feminist art exhibit, and tonight we went to a 1 A minor league baseball game complete with Fireworks! More pictures coming soon - but I have to rest up - we're taking the train to Yale tomorrow, and I don't even have an outfit picked out!!

Here are some sand sculptures that we made at the beach!

Another Post?!? Get outta town!

Yes, you lucky dog! You trite euphemism for someone with good fortune! You are the recipient of another blog entry. And get ready, because this one's very bloggy.

Monday, David, Heather and I collided with Times Square - the place where dreams go to die. If you've never been, imagine the las vegas strip confined into one block but all the advertisements are for the "Legally Blonde" broadway musical and there are no hookers. Well maybe some hookers. Oh, and there are also tens of thousands of people shuffling through all the time.

Anyway - on this particular wacky adventure we took tourist portraits! Which was really fun! Below is a sample of photos from that night. We wanted them too look like tourist photos from the 1980s. What's really amazing about this city is that in the space of 30 minutes we easily photographed ever major ethnic group - including a 16-large tour group from Japan.

Well I gotta go before david catches me watching another nsync video on youtube. Wanna see 5 dudes just hangin' out in outter-space?

The 16-person tour group from Japan. We love this photo bc heather and I made it look like a grade-school class photo, with the teacher on the side, the one guy not visible and the girls crouching tiger in front.

How David Ruined Lil' Wayne for me

So this past Saturday night, after my dear friend Ross left, David and I had a fun time vintage shopping, watching Mary Kate be a slut in "The Wackness," and eventually made our way to Dumbo, downtown Brooklyn, to take some night photos and eat the best pizza in the city at Grimaldi's. All in all a successful day, except that David distracted me all day, making me forget that my favorite rapper/thug Lil Wayne "tha carter" was playing a concert in Dumbo that night. We arrived too late, only to find a pile of posters, juvenile gang members wandering the streets, and a void of emptiness pungent in air.

Whatever, here are some non-lil wayne photos. Who cares.

Fabulous!

First: I'm not sure why I haven't entitled a blog fabulous before, that seems very weird to me.
Second: the photo collage below is courtesy of my friend Heather ( http://www.hetherc.blogspot.com), who is also in ny for the summer. I don't know if I've ever been more happy then when I had these adorable puppets all over my fingers.

Mermaid Mania..

Ahoy! So today David and I ventured to a magical land filled with intrigue, wonder and "way too many goddam fucking people." This land was called Coney Island and it lured us with its promise of a beautiful Mermaid Parade. After 2 hours of being crushed by people in Aushwitz-esque confinement, the parade subsided and we made it to the Boardwalk. Now, don't get us wrong, there were still tons people there too. Most of them were crowed around us though, taking pictures of whatever wacky people we were photographing. So! In the end - we managed to make some pretty cool portraits that will give you a little taste of our Coney Island adventure. Oh - and we're going to start with a sweet montage of me...

Workin in the City

In case you didn't know, I am very important and busy working in the big city, or as I call it, New York. But I managed to take this photo anyway on one of my morning jaunts. I took this right before I went to the Condé Nast building (Vanity Fair, Vogue, etc.) to do photo research and quickly learned that I dress like a color-blind librarian. Regardless! Enjoy! - Veronica

david's whacky day in manhattan

well, veronica is at work, as are all my other friends, so I opted to entertain myself by wandering aimlessly in the city. I went to B&H photo and bought some junk and then walked around a bunch and took some photoooos... my photoshop is a bit crazy today, im just experimenting. enjoy! BTW, all these photos look pretty crappy when this blog thing shrinks them so much, but, whatever. just imagine they are very big and pretty!

Oh MoMa!

Hello avid readers! Today we went to the MOMA, which for you plebian-non-artists (or David's sister) is the Museum of Modern Art. Other than the ridiculous amount of pseudo-intellectuals discussing Picasso's blue period, it was fabulous! We then went to Little Italy and discovered "it's a less like a" Italy and more like a horrendous cocktail of the Olive Garden and Disney's Epcot Center. Anyway, here are some photographias:
